Wisconsin's top female criminal traffic defense lawyer, a repeated Super Lawyers® honoree, and the only criminal and drunk driving defense attorney named to the "Top 25 Women" attorneys in Wisconsin, Tracey A. Wood has pioneered new frontiers for Wisconsin women in law from the moment she began her legal career. She is Wisconsin's first attorney ever appointed as a Standardized Field Sobriety Test Instructor, and holds the first seat on the Board of Regents to the National College for DUI Defense ever held by a Wisconsin attorney - male or female - and is that board's only female DUI defense attorney, as well as the youngest member amongst the nation's most experienced and regarded DUI defense lawyers. She is the president of the Wisconsin Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers - the largest organized association of criminal defense lawyers in Wisconsin - and past president of the Dane County Criminal Defense Lawyers Association. Attorney Tracey Wood has authored Challenging Prior Under The Influence Convictions, and contributed to Drunk Driving Defense (the DUI defense attorney's bible). She is currently writing a Wisconsin treatise on OWI laws and practice.

When people are convicted unfairly, it erodes Wisconsin's judicial system, and Tracey seeks to make sure that doesn't happen at every opportunity - there's the appeal she won on behalf of her client overturning a conviction based on a constitutional violation of an illegal search and seizure; there's the unfair harsh prison sentence she convinced the judge to retract;

and then there are the numerous appeals she has won challenging the unfair counting of prior under the influence convictions.

A devoted mother and single parent, Tracey is an awe-inspiring role model to young women across the nation. She balances a highly successful career, endless devotion to her children, complete dedication to her clients and their cases, and a brilliant ongoing study of the law; all the while finding time to mentor other lawyers across the U.S. and help Wisconsin lawyers define and develop their practices.
